Still Working

So it’s been a bit over a month since my last post. I’m still working on my 2×72 grinder. At this point I’m really hoping it works. There have been a few problems… Such as believing several parts of it were measured in standard and they turned out to be metric, but it’s coming along. Also, thanks to my amazing parents, I now have a very hefty, metal cutting band saw. So I continue to build out my shop set up in anticipation of getting back to knife making.

Speaking of shops. I have been talking with the power company about running power to my outbuilding so I can convert it into an actual shop. Ya know, one that I can stand up straight in. (Basement humor) Hopefully I’ll be in there by spring.

Also, in shop related news, I’ve been in touch with two more experienced knifemakers about visiting their shops to learn anything they’ll share with me.

Anyways, just wanted to touch base and let everyone know I’m still here. If you’re one of the people who has contacted me about a knife… Thank you… Both for your interest, and for your patience during this time of growth and transition as I move from hobbyist to professional.

  1. Tyler, sounds like you are moving in the right direction! Thank God for parents. 😀 Can’t wait to see what’s new come Spring. Happy New Year. LaVonne
